deconstruct very old software and databses
Budget: $30 – $250 AUD
I have old CD ROMs from 1990s - all the information from those discs are now extracted and stored on my PC.
Programs were for Windows 3.1, 95, 98, ME, NT and 2000 and DOS. They dont work on current machines. The data and programs were last updated in late 1990's I'm told.
Each disc contains a small executable program in unknown language that creates a basic UI program for searching data on that disc. The database on each disv contains text and some images across about 12 CD ROMs.
They are all stored in unknown format or languages.
The job - I want the data from each of these discs in a modern format for searching across a modern program like Access or Excel.

Deconstruct and reconstrcut the programs and data to make them executable on modern machines.

Personally I dont see it as a difficult job - you will be able to look at it all and within a short time be able to figure out if you can do it or not. The 12 CDs are all basically the same except with different stored data. Once you have deconstructed one, the other 11 should be very straight forward.
