create an inventory database

I need a database of medical supplies for inventory control. I want scannable barcodes on each product, and the product needs to be transferrable from location to location (sometimes, we transfer excess inventory to a different hospital that is short of that item). The program does not need to integrate with any other hospital software, as we are a private contractor.
