Overview:
I need a web-based app and database to create a ‘knowledge map’ tool. The Tool will have five functions:
A user can set up a profile
A user can capture their ‘sources of knowledge’ by typing in answers to six questions. These answers are displayed on a chart and stored in a database alongside the user profile
A user can search the database and compare other’s answers to those six questions to their own. Results are shown on a table with similarities are highlighted in one colour (blue), differences are displayed in another colour (red) – with the most common answers amongst the users similarities displayed first
A user can capture their ‘future sources of knowledge’ by answering the same six questions but with suggested answers coming from the database to help the user respond. The new answers are displayed on a chart
Spider-web-charts can be produced from the database to group the answers, with a calculated score of the diversity of the sources information displayed.
The web-based app and database are for a proof-of-concept to show the potential of the idea, with the intention of securing further funding to develop it further.
