MS Access Woodshop Project Database

Job ID: 40379765

Budget: $30 – $250 USD

I run a small custom woodworking shop and need a single Microsoft Access file that lets me keep every job organised from first quote to final invoice. The database’s core purpose is to house an overall project record, issue purchase orders, monitor materials and capture the cost metrics that tell me whether each build is profitable.

Selected functionality
• Overall project record
• Purchase orders
• Cost metrics

Scope of work
Build a well-structured relational database (tables, relationships, queries) with clean, easy-to-use forms. Typical entities include projects, clients, materials, suppliers, purchase orders and cost entries. When I enter a new job, I should be able to add line-item materials, click a button to generate a purchase order and later see labour, material and overhead totals against the project budget.

Reports & dashboards
I want quick reports that summarise cost-to-date, material usage and gross margin by project, plus a simple screen or dashboard that highlights any orders still awaiting supplier confirmation.

Acceptance criteria
• Front-end forms run without prompting for macro/security changes.
• Sample data included so I can test straight away.
• All reports open in two clicks or less and export cleanly to PDF.
• No VBA lock-in—well-commented code or macro steps so I can tweak fields later.

If you’ve built Access solutions for small manufacturers or job shops before, great—please mention it and share a screenshot or demo.
