optimize the database - 500 – Internal Server Error

The public pages in our website work well. However, a few of the search pages in one of the modules in the registered gallery experience “500 – Internal Server Error” after spooling for too long. This issue happened about 3 times in last 3 – 4 months. This issue apparently will resolve when we reinstate using the hosting system backdated backup copy.
After engaging siteground, they suspect our website database is having “slow queries” Hence, we need to check and optimize the database to speeds up the slow queries in those affected databases.
