WordPress QR Database Platform
Budget: £18 – £36 GBP
I need a WordPress-based site that mirrors the core idea of crumb.co.uk: a cloud-hosted database where every record can be surfaced through a QR code, a bar code, or direct text search. Visitors should be able to sign up with their phone number, receive an OTP, and then view or edit the data that belongs to them. The platform must let me store both product information and associated user details in a structured way, and instantly generate or scan codes that point back to each record.
Here’s how I picture the flow. An admin (me) adds or imports a product; the system automatically creates a QR code and a bar code, stores both images alongside the product ID, and makes them downloadable. Registered users can log in with their verified phone number, pull up their allocated products, edit descriptions or images, and re-issue fresh codes if needed. Whenever someone scans a code with any standard device, the site should route them to the corresponding record’s public page.
WordPress, custom post types, and a solid QR/bar-code plugin or bespoke PHP module are fine as long as the final result is lightweight, responsive, and easy for me to maintain without writing code every time. If you prefer a headless approach with a React or Vue front end that still counts as WordPress under the hood, mention it—I’m open to that, provided the OTP login and code generation stay frictionless.
Deliverables I must receive:
• A fully working WordPress site on my hosting, styled simply but cleanly, with dashboard access.
• Phone-number registration and Twilio (or similar) OTP verification configured and tested.
• Automatic creation and download of QR and bar codes for every new or updated record.
• CRUD screens for product information and user details, protected by role permissions.
• Clear instructions (video or PDF) on adding new items and managing users after hand-off.
I’ll supply domain, hosting, and any paid plugin licenses you recommend once we agree on the stack. Let me know your timeline and which libraries or plugins you intend to use so I can approve them before you start.
