Upgrade WordPress SQL & Enable Caches
Budget: €30 – €250 EUR
I need my WordPress site brought up to speed by upgrading the underlying SQL Server from version 5.7 to 8.0. The goal is a smooth transition with zero downtime if possible, but I’m open to your advice on the best approach because I’m not entirely sure whether we must preserve every table or start clean in some areas.
At the moment I’m also uncertain about the state of my backups. Before touching the database, please audit what’s in place, create a reliable fallback if none exists, and document the steps so I can reproduce them later.
Once the database is running on 8.0, I want genuine performance gains. Please enable and properly configure an opcode cache (OPcache) as well as a persistent object cache for WordPress—Redis or Memcached, whichever fits the server environment best. Make sure the cache layers are verified as active inside WordPress and that common problem-plugins are accounted for.
Deliverables
• Database fully upgraded to 8.0, WordPress loading without errors
• Verified backup created and stored securely
• Opcode cache enabled and tuned
• Persistent object cache installed, configured, and validated
• Short hand-over note listing commands, config paths, and rollback steps
