Repair Form-to-MySQL Pipeline
Budget: $250 – $750 USD
I already have an HTML form that visitors fill out to list their information on my site. Right now the data only echoes back in the browser; it never reaches my MySQL database hosted on a Liquid Web server.
What I have in place
• The form’s front-end HTML is complete.
• A piece of AI-generated Python exists, but it is not actually managing the database connection.
• An additional backend script (not PHP or JavaScript) is attempting to process the submission.
What I need
1. Diagnose why the current script chain fails to write to MySQL.
2. Build or refactor a reliable connection layer—prepared statements, proper escaping, and clear error handling included.
3. Wire the form to this layer so each submission is stored in the correct table.
4. Provide concise documentation and inline comments so I can maintain it.
Nice-to-haves (if time permits)
– Basic server-side validation to stop empty or malformed fields.
– A quick success/fail message for the user.
– Recommendations on securing credentials on Liquid Web.
I am comfortable giving you SSH or cPanel access once we define a safe workflow. When you’re done, I should be able to submit the form and see the new record instantly in MySQL, with no console errors or silent failures.
