MySQL Database Cleaning and Formatting

I have several MySQL dump files that need thorough cleaning and consistent formatting before we push them into our reporting pipeline. The job is entirely database-side—no spreadsheets or text docs—so you’ll be importing the .sql files, running the necessary queries, and exporting a tidy, reliable dataset.

Here’s what I expect:

• Load each dump, create a backup, and work directly in MySQL 8.0 or later
• Remove duplicate rows and orphan records
• Standardise dates to YYYY-MM-DD and trim errant whitespace or casing issues
• Apply our existing snake_case naming convention across all columns
• Export a cleaned .sql file and provide a concise change log of the queries used

If you’re comfortable with MySQL Workbench or the CLI and can deliver a clean importable dump that meets those checkpoints, I’m ready to move quickly.
