Fix “Error in Loading DLL” in Microsoft Access 2007 File (Startup Form Cleanup)

Job ID: 39595317

Budget: ₹600 – ₹1,500 INR

I have a Microsoft Access .accdb file that throws a “Error in loading DLL” on startup. The error is isolated to the startup form (frmStartup), and not related to missing references or broken VBA code — the issue is likely caused by an embedded ActiveX or OLE control.

You will be provided with the Access file. Your task is to:

Tasks:
Open the file in Access 2007 (32-bit) or later (must be compatible with the client environment)

Duplicate frmStartup to frmStartup_clean

Open it in Design View and:

Delete any ActiveX, OLE, or suspicious/invisible controls

Clear all event triggers ([Event Procedure] and macros) from the form and controls

Save and set frmStartup_clean as the new startup form

Test and confirm that the error is fully resolved

Optionally, remove the original form once confirmed

Deliverables:
Cleaned Access file (.accdb) that opens without DLL errors

frmStartup_clean working normally (buttons can be left functional or neutral)

Summary of what was removed/fixed

Requirements:
Proficiency in Microsoft Access 2007–2016

Experience debugging legacy Access projects and DLL/ActiveX issues

Access to a Windows system with Access installed
