Use API to extract data from a database and develop a excel formulae

To order electronics components, we are using an Excel sheet to do the BOM. (Bill Of Material)
To fill up these BOM, we have to copy/paste some fields from the web site of the reseller to our Excel sheet.
This work takes time and the data aren’t up to date when we have to order components. So we’d like to
automatize some field like the Reseller’s amount in stock and unit price.
Most of reseller give APIs to access directly they database. With these APIs it is possible to extract the
amount in stock and price and so update our BOM with the last data.
We would like to develop an Excel formulae to do this
