I need a straightforward relational database that lets me control product inventory without the overhead of live, real-time syncing. The core requirement is the ability to enter products, monitor stock on hand, and generate purchase orders automatically when levels hit a reorder point I can set.
Key tasks and deliverables
• Design the schema for products, suppliers, stock transactions, and purchase orders.
• Build user-friendly forms (desktop or web) for adding products, logging receipts/issues, and producing purchase orders in PDF or printable format.
• Include reports that show current stock levels, low-stock alerts, and historical movement.
• Provide clear instructions so I can adjust reorder points and add new products later.
The system can reside in Microsoft Access, MySQL with a lightweight front end, or another platform you recommend—as long as it’s easy for a non-technical user to maintain and doesn’t rely on constant background updates. A single-click “Update Stock” or nightly batch refresh is fine. Please keep the interface clean, with fields and labels I can modify if our product line changes.
