FileMaker Steel Hole Pricing Tool
Budget: $15 – $25 USD
I quote jobs for drilling multiple holes into solid steel bars that range from 1.5 in to 12 in in diameter. Hole diameters vary from 0.75 in, 1 in, 1.5 in, 2 in, all the way up to 8 in, and a single bar can have any number of these holes spaced along its full length. Right now I juggle the numbers in a spreadsheet, but I need a faster, cleaner way.
Please build the solution in FileMaker Pro. The calculator must let me choose the run size (bar diameter) and each branch size (hole diameter) from drop-down menus, enter the quantity of identical holes, and then return an instant price. The pricing logic is advanced: it has to consider the run size, every hole size, and the total number of holes, with the flexibility to factor in changes to material, labour, or machine rates later.
I’d like a straightforward layout that an operator can open, make the selections, type a quantity, and immediately see the final price plus a line-item breakdown if required. Include a way for me to update base costs without touching scripts.
Deliverables:
• A ready-to-use FileMaker file containing the data tables, layout, and scripts for the calculator
• Clear notes on where to adjust cost variables and add new sizes in the future
• A brief walkthrough (video or PDF) so staff can start quoting right away
If anything in the description needs clarification before you begin, just let me know.
