Access Import Duty Calculator

I need a Microsoft Access solution that reproduces my “IMPORT ENTRY SUMMARY” workflow from end to end. The database must hold product, supplier and shipment details, then return a single-screen summary view of the four charges I actually pay—import duty, VAT, excise duty and the customs processing fee—every time a new entry is saved.

To make this work smoothly, please:

• Build properly normalised tables for all lookup information (tariff codes, rates, suppliers, products, shipments, currencies).
• Create one calculation query that fetches the correct percentages, applies them to the declared customs value and pushes the totals straight back to the form.
• Design a data-entry form bound to that query. Editable fields should sit in the centre of the screen; a read-only summary panel on the same screen must refresh instantly whenever a value changes.
• Add basic validation so numeric, date and currency fields can’t be left blank or mis-typed.

Acceptance criteria
– Entering a sample shipment triggers automatic, accurate calculations for all four charges.
– The summary totals update live with any edit to quantities, values or tariff codes.
– The file opens without security warnings and runs inside a standard Office 365 Access install—no extra libraries.
