Access Asset Maintenance Database

Job ID: 40621087

Budget: $15 – $25 USD

I want a Microsoft Access relational database that lets my service team log every piece of client hardware the moment it arrives, follow it through each repair step, and close the loop when it ships back out—all without spreadsheets or paper forms.

Core workflow
• Intake: a simple form captures serial number, model, client name, date-in, and automatically assigns a job ID.
• Live status tracking: technicians update the record as the unit moves through diagnosis, parts ordering, repair, testing, and dispatch, so anyone can see its current location and status in real time.
• History at a glance: each asset’s full maintenance history should be retained and viewable from a single screen.
• Daily summary report: at the click of a button I need an automatically formatted report listing jobs received, jobs completed, and outstanding units, ready to print or export to PDF.
• User access control: administrators can add/edit everything, technicians update only status fields, and front-office staff have read-only access. If you prefer the split front-end/back-end approach for security, that works for me.

Deliverables
1. Access .accdb file (or split FE/BE pair) with all tables, relationships, forms, queries, and reports in place.
2. Basic sample data so I can see each feature working.
3. Brief setup/usage notes so I can roll it out to the team.

The solution must be built entirely in Microsoft Access; no external plug-ins required. If you can complete a first draft quickly, I’m happy to test and give feedback for a polished final version.
