SQL Database Upgrade & Maintenance
Budget: $15 – $25 USD
Our data company’s SQL database underpins every report we deliver, and it now needs a thorough upgrade plus dependable day-to-day care. We will remain on our current SQL-based platform, but I want to improve three key areas at once: performance, schema design, and security.
During the upgrade phase you will boost performance through smart indexing, query refactoring, and resource monitoring; redesign parts of the schema so it scales cleanly for analysts; and harden security with tighter role management, encryption, and auditing.
Once those foundations are in place, I’ll lean on you each day to generate timely reporting and ad-hoc queries while also guaranteeing that backups run automatically and restorations are tested and documented.
Deliverables
• A step-by-step upgrade plan covering optimisation, schema redesign, and security hardening
• Implemented changes in staging and production with clear roll-back paths
• Automated daily reporting/query routines, fully documented for the team
• Backup and recovery scripts plus at least one successful disaster-recovery drill
Acceptance hinges on measurable speed gains, clean database structures, passing security checks, and proof that we can restore the system quickly from backups. If you have a track record of similar SQL projects and can collaborate closely with our in-house analysts, I’d like to hear how you would approach this work.
