Ignition Perspective MES Architecture
Budget: $250 – $750 USD
I am rolling out a full-scale MES in Ignition Perspective and need a specialist who can think at the ISA-88 level while still getting down to the tag-binding details. The job is to design a reusable, recipe-driven interface that supports recipe creation and modification, executes and tracks each run, and maintains strict version control. Alongside that interface, I expect robust OEE dashboards that surface Availability, Performance, and Quality in real time.
Machine status must be visible at a glance and explorable in depth, so the Perspective views have to stream live status updates, surface detailed reports, and log everything historically for analysis. PLC faults and alarms should flow naturally into the same screens so operators never leave one environment to resolve issues. A plant-wide monitoring view that aggregates all machines rounds out the picture.
Deliverables
• A high-level Ignition architecture document showing gateway, Perspective session strategy, tag providers, database schema, and how each ISA-88 layer maps into the design.
• A library of standardized, reusable machine templates (views, UDTs, scripts) built in Ignition Perspective, ready to import and extend for any new equipment.
Acceptance will be based on:
• Templates importing into a clean Ignition install without errors.
• Architecture document clearly referencing each required function and metric.
• Demonstrated recipe flow that logs execution and OEE calculations accurately.
