Expert SQL Database Overhaul

Job ID: 40161675

Budget: $30 – $250 USD

My production apps sit on a Linux stack, but the real bottleneck is the SQL layer. I want a small, highly-skilled team that can jump straight into serious database work—no hand-holding, just results.

Here’s what I need:

• Database design & optimisation—normalise the current schema, introduce the right indexing strategy and make sure future growth is painless.
• Data migration & integration—lift data from our legacy tables (and a few flat-file exports) into the new structure without losing a single record or breaking the live service.
• Clean, repeatable scripts—all changes, from DDL to migration steps, captured in version-controlled SQL files so we can reproduce or roll back on any Linux host.

You’ll connect through SSH to a staging box first, then coordinate a controlled push to production. Native SQL tools (mysqldump/pg_dump, psql/mysql CLI, cron-driven jobs, shell scripting) are preferred so ongoing maintenance stays lightweight.

Deliverables will be:
1. A fully optimised schema diagram (ERD) and the DDL to create it.
2. Migration scripts with clear ordering and rollback instructions.
3. A short run-book detailing every command you executed and the rationale behind key optimisation choices.

Show me a past project where you redesigned a live database and pulled off a smooth migration with minimal downtime—links, code snippets or brief case studies welcome. I’ll review quickly and we can schedule access the same day.
