SSRS 2016 VM Migration
Budget: ₹1,500 – ₹12,500 INR
I’m retiring an old virtual machine that hosts our SQL Server Reporting Services 2016 instance and bringing up a fresh Windows Server 2016 VM in its place. I already have full backups of ReportServer and ReportServerTempDB and the encryption key, but I want an experienced hand to move everything cleanly and re-establish the service exactly as it works today.
Here’s what I need done:
• Restore both SSRS databases on the new VM’s SQL instance and confirm integrity.
• Import the encryption key and make sure all data source credentials decrypt correctly.
• Re-apply my custom tweaks in rsreportserver.config (email delivery limits, branding changes, a couple of security settings) and any related web.config entries.
• Walk through the SSRS Configuration Manager steps—service accounts, URLs, and email settings—and validate the web portal.
• Final verification: every existing report renders, subscriptions trigger on schedule, and users keep the same permissions with no credential prompts.
