SQL Server 2019 Setup & Admin
Budget: $10 – $30 CAD
I need a clean, fully-functional installation of SQL Server 2019 on a fresh Windows Server 2019 machine. The instance must be ready for our development team to start building databases, while I retain full administrative control through the Windows “Administrator” (or sa) account and all other users connect through a dedicated, least-privilege login you create.
What I expect you to handle end-to-end:
• Install SQL Server 2019 from scratch, applying the latest cumulative update.
• Configure the server with best-practice defaults—file locations, max memory, TempDB sizing, trace flags where appropriate.
• Create and document the separate developer login, map it to a role with only the rights they truly need, and verify that the sa / Administrator account remains untouched for everything else.
• Enable and test network connectivity so the team can reach the instance from Visual Studio and SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS).
• Set up a nightly full backup plus differential and log backup schedule using native SQL Agent jobs, saving to a path I specify.
• Provide a concise hand-over note that covers the installed components, service accounts, firewall settings, and how to add new logins or restore backups.
Acceptance will be based on successful remote connection by one of our developers, verification of the backup jobs, and a quick walkthrough of the configuration choices you made.
