Restore Site & Optimize MySQL

Job ID: 40568669

Budget: £10 – £20 GBP

My company’s informational website is currently offline because the server runs out of memory as soon as MySQL starts. Every area—the public-facing homepage, user account pages and the small admin dashboard—crashes together, so I need the entire site brought back online and whatever is hammering the database fixed.

I’m not yet sure whether the spike comes from traffic, runaway queries, or an unexpected data surge, so the first step will be a quick diagnostic of the slow queries log, indexes, configuration settings and any recent code changes. Once the root cause is clear, I expect you to implement a clean, durable solution: tune queries, add or refine indexes, archive or partition oversized tables, adjust MySQL or PHP-FPM settings—whatever best restores normal resource usage.

When you’re done the site should load quickly, stay well under the server’s RAM limits, and leave me with brief notes on what was changed so I can track it going forward. Feel free to suggest lightweight monitoring tools so we catch unusual load early next time.

Deliverables
• Fully functioning website online (all sections)
• Documented optimization steps and before/after metrics
• Short follow-up guide for ongoing monitoring and maintenance
