Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and proactive MongoDB Database Administrator (DBA) to manage, optimize, and maintain our database systems. The ideal candidate will ensure high availability, performance, and data integrity, adhering to the following responsibilities and targets.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Uptime Management
*Ensure a 99.9% uptime, limiting downtime to less than 9 hours annually.
2. Backup and Recovery
*Achieve a 100% success rate in database backup restores.
*Regularly perform and test backup restores to ensure reliability.
3. Performance Monitoring
*Monitor query response times, ensuring critical queries execute within 180 seconds, as per business requirements.
4. Storage and Capacity Planning
*Ensure storage usage does not exceed 80% of total capacity.
*Plan and implement alternatives when usage reaches 70%.
5. Job Scheduling and Failure Management
*Maintain a target of less than 2% scheduled job failures.
*Investigate and promptly resolve any failures.
6. Data Integrity and Consistency
*Conduct regular data consistency checks to identify and address discrepancies or data corruption immediately.
7. Maintenance and Updates
*Limit maintenance windows to less than 6 hours per month and schedule them during off-peak hours to minimize disruption.
8. Scalability and Load Management
*Monitor active user counts and ensure databases can handle peak loads without performance degradation.
*Identify peak usage times and optimize resources accordingly.
9. Support Continuity
*Provide replacement support staff when the assigned personnel are on annual leave to ensure uninterrupted service.
Requirements
* 5+ Years of experience as MongoDB DBA.
* Proficiency in managing and maintaining MongoDB databases.
* Strong understanding of database backup, recovery, and disaster recovery processes.
* Expertise in performance monitoring and query optimization.
* Experience in capacity planning and database scaling strategies.
* Familiarity with automation tools and database monitoring platforms.
