Database- Backend Development

Job ID: 39840768

Budget: $30 – $250 AUD

I’m looking for a seasoned engineer who can own everything that sits between my application logic and the data layer. The project already runs in a clean Docker environment with a Node.js codebase, but the database side needs a thorough review and hands-on improvement. You would start by examining the existing schemas and query patterns, highlight weak spots in performance or integrity, then roll out the fixes—whether that means redesigning tables, tweaking indexes, refactoring ORM mappings, or even steering a move to a more suitable SQL or NoSQL engine.

I’m open on technology choice; what matters is that the solution you suggest scales well, keeps latency low, and remains maintainable by a small team. You should feel comfortable writing migration scripts, optimising complex joins or aggregation pipelines, and wiring the updated data layer back into the backend so that endpoints stay stable for the front-end team.

Please tell me about a recent project where you led database architecture or optimisation, the tools you used, and the measurable results you achieved. Once we confirm scope, we’ll lock in milestones and you can dive straight into the repository.
