Data Science Project Architecture Definition

I am creating a company to provide Data Science Services. For doing data science process it is required to have an architecture defined for working and been connected with client data.

The main goal of this job is to define and set-up a solid architecture that alow client to share their data with our company in realtime.

Options that I have gathered but not sure if they can work out:
1- Encourage client to use Cloud Platforms, such as, google, azure or aws as way of working platform or db. Then share db with out company for data science project
2- Rent Private Server and connect client db to server. Then from company's SQL Server send request to acess our private sever, where client data is stored.
