Basic Image Viewer for Photographer

Job ID: 34463097

Budget: £250 – £750 GBP

I am a Photographer that has been using Thumbsplus to sort images from events for 22 years. The parent company of Thumbplus, Cerious, appears to have gone bust, but I would like an update of the software to suit the advancement of cameras and monitors to allow us to work more efficiently.

I have been told the software itself can't be modified without the source code, but several people have offered to make a stand alone viewer that has the features that I need. It only needs the basic features, as I will use the old version of TP to do the more advanced batch processing of images. A basic outline is this The software looks at high res images in a folder and creates a thumbnail of up to 2400px then links the two images via a database. Viewing and re scaling the thumbnail aids UI Renaming, rotating the thumbs performs the action on the full res image. Folders can be created, copied, moved and renamed. The images can be moved, copied, rotated and renamed. The database can be exported to a website to create the same file structure of identical "unsorted" images hosted on a server.

The layout, keyboard shortcuts and UI would be almost identical to Thumbsplus, but with a few tweaks that are specific to our needs I believe a lot of the code will already be available through open source

Thanks
