Database Developer

Budget: $25 – $50 USD

The goal is to take our operational data and transform it into a well-structured SQL Server data warehouse that feeds BI dashboards and future analytics projects. I will supply the raw table structures, sample data sets, and the business rules that drive our reporting needs; what I need is your expertise in architecting a star (or snowflake, if justified) schema, writing the T-SQL to populate it, and making sure the whole solution performs efficiently at scale.

Responsibilities:
Develop, test, and maintain new and existing databases to ensure efficient data retrieval and management.
Collaborate closely with developers, administrators, and clients to provide technical support and identify new requirements.
Ensure system consistency and reliability by adhering to best practices and coding standards.
Design and implement database solutions, including stored procedures, functions, triggers, and views using T-SQL.
Produce high-quality code and resolve complex design and architecture issues.
Perform database performance tuning, diagnose and troubleshoot errors, and recommend emerging database technologies.
Create and manage comprehensive database reports, visualizations, and dashboards.
Automate recurring database tasks to improve efficiency.
Maintain and enforce database standards, ensuring data integrity and security.
Utilize PowerShell and Unix shell scripting skills for database automation and management.
Implement SSIS and SSRS for data integration and reporting.
Demonstrate strong problem-solving skills and critical thinking in resolving technical challenges.

Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
7-10 years of experience in database development, information technology, database architecture, or a related field.
Extensive experience with database technologies, including MS SQL and MySQL.
Strong command of SQL and SQL server tools.
Familiarity with cloud services (AWS, Azure) highly desirable.
Proficiency in working with data lakes such as Snowflake is a plus.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a keen attention to detail.
Strong mathematical and statistical knowledge.
Demonstrated ability to produce high-quality code and follow best practices.
MCSE/MCSA certifications preferred.
