We are looking for a creative, detail-oriented, and highly skilled Interactive Data Dashboard Designer & Digital Analytics Storyteller to help us design and build a dynamic, private-facing data dashboard webpage for our 2025 Newark Summer Youth Employment Program (SYEP) initiatives.

About Us
Earl Brown Education Consulting (EBEC) is a leading educational and youth development consulting firm that specializes in designing, developing, and executing large-scale, high-impact programs for youth and families. This summer, we led historic conference-style orientations and workshops for Newark SYEP, serving over 2,000 youth and young adults in Newark, NJ.
We collect extensive data from:
• Youth participants (General SYEP and NextGen Leaders)
• Parents and guardians
• Employers and worksites
• SYEP mentors and staff
Data is collected at multiple points:
• Pre-summer surveys
• Post-orientation surveys
• Mid-program surveys
• End-of-summer surveys

What We Need
We want to create a dedicated private webpage (or series of linked pages) integrated into our main EBEC website. This digital dashboard will serve as an interactive, real-time showcase of all SYEP program data and impact, providing leadership and key stakeholders with an accessible and visually compelling way to explore our results.
Key requirements:
• Ability to take raw survey data (provided as CSV or Excel files) and turn it into dynamic, user-friendly visuals.
• Design and build an engaging, modern, and on-brand webpage (or series of pages) with:
o Toggle options to view different stakeholder data (youth, parents, employers, staff)
o Comparisons and trends (e.g., pre-summer vs. post-orientation results)
o Segments for each demographic group (General SYEP and NextGen Leaders)
o Visual storytelling elements (charts, infographics, progress bars, highlight callouts)
• Strong sense of UX design to guide users through complex data in a simple and clear way.
• Develop a clean and secure backend structure that can be updated as new data is collected throughout the summer (and potentially future programs).

Your Role & Responsibilities
• Assess all provided data sources, including survey files and summary documents, to understand the content and key stories to tell.
• Propose a creative and strategic design plan, including layout mockups and wireframes for how data will be displayed and interacted with.
• Create interactive visual elements, such as:
o Filterable graphs
o Side-by-side comparison charts
o Interactive trend lines
o Real-time percentage displays
• Build and integrate the webpage (or pages) into the EBEC website, ensuring it is:
o Private-access only (link-only access with optional password protection)
o Mobile-friendly and responsive
o On-brand with EBEC’s visual identity
• Coordinate with EBEC’s leadership and project team to incorporate feedback and finalize content.
• Provide a system or guide for future data updates (so EBEC can continue to refresh or add data as the summer progresses).

Who We’re Looking For
• Proven experience designing and building interactive data dashboards and analytics web pages.
• Strong background in UX/UI design and visual storytelling.
• Proficiency with data visualization tools and libraries (e.g., Tableau, D3.js, Power BI embedded, Google Data Studio, or custom-built JS frameworks).
• Ability to handle raw data and turn it into simplified, easy-to-understand stories for non-technical audiences.
• Creative, self-motivated, and able to propose unique ways to highlight impact beyond static charts.
• Knowledge of web development best practices (security, responsive design, accessibility).

Why This is Exciting
This isn’t a typical data reporting job. You’ll help transform rows of data into a living, digital story — showing Newark’s youth development journey and highlighting the real impact of community investment. Your work will not only impress our client (Newark Youth One Stop and Workforce leadership), but also set a new standard for how data can be used to celebrate and inspire.
