Senior Data Scraping [Automation Engineer]
Budget: $5,000 – $10,000 USD
Over the past 3 years, we have managed to gather an audience of more than 200k subscribers on the platform, as well as more than 17M views of our projects over time. Our course aims to achieve results for future students by correctly configuring SEO for shots and teaching them how to create the right design solutions that will bring them customers.
Mission
We're launching a high-performance system to fuel the top of our acquisition funnel for a new digital course focused on growth through Dribbble. This course is built on real-world insights and internal frameworks that consistently deliver visibility, leads, and client work to designers and agencies.
Now, our mission is to build the technical infrastructure to reach and convert the right audience — at scale. This is not an MVP. This is a revenue-focused launch, and you're the engineer powering the machine.
What you’ll be responsible for
1. **Full-scale Data Scraping Infrastructure**
Build a modular, scalable data pipeline to extract, enrich and store designer profiles from:
(Dribbble) - Target: freelancers, studios, small teams
(LinkedIn) - Target: UX/UI/Product Designers open to freelance or side work
(Instagram) - Target: small design studios or creators who link to Dribbble in bio
2. **Funnel + Lead Generation Automations**
You will design and connect the scraped data into a structured
- Format: Airtable / Google Sheets / CRM
- Auto-deduplication + tagging
- Weekly refresh logic (2–3×/week scanning)
- Ready for export to:
- Email platform (MailerLite, Sendgrid, etc.)
- Segmenting for campaigns (webinar, course, follow-up)
3. **Cold Outreach Layer (Outreach Engine)**
Optional but highly desired:
- Build or advise on cold-email flows (using enriched emails)
- Enable UTM tracking + link segmentation
- Capture interaction data (click, open, reply) into lead status
**We are open to proposals from agencies and freelancers. We need a comprehensive approach to the entire task.**
Audience Hypotheses
1. **Dribbble — Primary Source of High-Intent Creators**
Who we’re targeting:
- Freelance UX/UI, Product, and Web Designers
- Micro-agencies or studios (1–5 team members)
- Product teams with internal designers publishing UI
- Actively publishing work but not in "Popular" sections
- Not top-ranked — but **hungry to grow**
Why they’re a fit:
- They already use Dribbble → understand the platform
- They want visibility → course teaches just that
- They lack consistency or traction → course solves that
2. **LinkedIn — High-Volume Validation Layer**
Who we’re targeting:
- UX/UI and Product Designers (solo or in-house)
- Actively posting or updating their profiles
- Likely working freelance or seeking more work
- Sometimes less active on Dribbble — but open to growth
Why they’re a fit:
- May not be active on Dribbble, but still want clients
- Use LinkedIn as professional presence
- Respond well to credibility + results-based offers
3. **Instagram — Experimental Visibility Layer**
Who we’re targeting:
- Designers or micro-agencies promoting their work visually
- Have Dribbble or portfolio link in bio
- Consistently publish work, reels, or carousels
Why they’re a fit:
- High visibility, often under-monetized
- Warm audience for retargeting via lead magnets
- Some overlap with Dribbble, good for building trust early
What We’re Looking For
Core Hard Skills
- Strong Python skills (Scrapy, Playwright, Selenium, BeautifulSoup)
- Experience with **anti-bot handling, proxies**, headless browsers
- DOM parsing, pagination, Ajax content handling, rate-limiting
- Experience scraping platforms like Dribbble, LinkedIn, Instagram
- Automation tools: Make (Integromat), Zapier, Pipedream, n8n
- Data enrichment via APIs (Hunter.io, Snov.io, Clearbit, Apollo, etc.)
- Smart deduplication, scoring, segmentation
- Familiarity with Airtable, Google Sheets, or CRMs
- Creating automated mailings and lead generation within Instagram
Architecture / Automation
- Designing scheduled scraping systems (daily / 3-day cycles)
- Handling versioning of data (diffing old vs new, tracking events)
- Building a lead scoring & status system (e.g., “new”, “engaged”, “converted”)
- Scalable + modular codebase for future platforms
Bonus Skills
- Background in marketing funnels / webinar funnels
- Familiarity with data visualization or Notion integration
- Worked in fast-paced startup or growth team environment
Deliverables
- MVP: 1–2K leads for testing within 2–3 weeks
- A fully ready-made system for mailing, searching, data collection and funnels (late September)
- Properly configured CRM with a convenient progress filter and lead response analysis
- Creating marketing funnels to attract leads
- Automated systems for communication and lead generation on Instagram
- Cold Outreach Layer (Outreach Engine)
What we don’t need
- “Just emails” — we want qualified, segmented, actionable leads
- CSV dumps without scoring, filtering, and context
- Short-term hacks that break in 2 weeks**
