Greyhound Race card and Stats Scraper
Budget: £20 – £250 GBP
Hello,
I require web scraping to run some daily filtering of the days UK greyhound racing post race cards. This is in order to save me time by having to filter the race cards manually. There are normally 11-13 race meeting every day and each meeting has up to 14 races, which can mean anything up to 150 or so individual races per day. Each race usually has six greyhounds per race, but sometimes only 5.
The days race cards website for Tuesday21st September is:
https://greyhoundbet.racingpost.com/#meeting-list/r_date=2021-09-21
There are 13 UK meetings for this day
I don’t require anything very detailed, but do require the below filtering rules to be applied using the FORM header in the race card for every race at every daily meeting, with a list then compiled of qualifying selections visible.
Filtering rules I require are as follows:
1-Check all of the greyhounds in the race ran the SAME DISTANCE as each of the other runners in the race the last time it raced as in Dis (which is 3rd column in form tab of card). If any ran a different distance, avoid this race and don’t add to any list, but go on to check next race in the meeting.
2-Ensure all runners in the race have a time listed for this last ran race using CalTm (which is the 16th column in form tab of card). If time is missing or 0, avoid this race and again don’t add to list, but go on to check the next race in the meeting.
3-List the greyhound trap number (or numbers if two have exactly the same figure) which has/have the fastest time/s, again using is the calc time far left column in form.
The list created to be Excel/csv files. The extraction app should run from my (Windows10) PC. And would comprise:
Meeting card name, E.G. Crayford
Race time in time order per meeting E.G. 1:49, 2:07, etc.
Qualifying selections
Thereby an example of what I would like to see in the list would be:
Crayford
1:49 3 (therefore trap 3 would have the fastest or smallest time when last ran with each and every other runner having ran the same distance a in their last race)
2:07 5
Monmore
6:17 2
The screen shot below shows the Romford race card for the 5:08 race on 16/09/21.
Using the above filtering rules trap 4 would qualify because it has the fastest time of 25.20 and all six runners ran the same distance of 400m, therefore should show in the list as:
Romford
5:08 4
Hope this is a clear explanation of exactly what I require.
Any questions please ask
Thank-you and best wishes Jon
