Canadian Case-Law Scraper Needed
Budget: $30 – $250 CAD
I need a developer who can lawfully pull Canadian case-law decisions that match the exact Section, Topic, and Keyword filters I supply. Everything must come from an authorised source—whether that is an official court API, CanLII’s bulk access service, or another provider whose terms explicitly allow automated retrieval. In your proposal, please identify the source you intend to use and explain how your method stays within those terms of use.
For every matching judgment, I want a PDF copy when the licence permits download; when it does not, a direct hyperlink to the decision page is fine. Alongside each file or link, capture the core metadata I require: Case name, Citation, and Court, plus the publication date and any topical tags you extract. All of this should be summarised in an index that I can open in Excel or as a CSV.
Deliverables
• Folder (or repository) of PDFs, each named consistently
• Excel/CSV index containing: hyperlink (or local path), Case name, Citation, Court, date, tags
• Brief implementation notes outlining the source/API used and compliance steps taken
Please include your timeline and rate when you respond.
