1. To critically examine the existing legal frameworks in India governing
corporate surveillance and assess their adequacy in protecting consumer privacy
rights, particularly in relation to consent mechanisms.
2. To assess how Indian corporations collect, process, and use consumer data,
and analyse whether the consent obtained is informed, voluntary, and lawful
under prevailing laws such as the Information Technology Act, 2000 and the
Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.
3. To investigate the loopholes and inconsistencies in the enforcement of
consent-based data collection practices by companies, and how these gaps affect
consumer autonomy and trust in digital markets.
4. To propose reformative legal and policy recommendations for strengthening
consent mechanisms and enhancing consumer protection against exploitative corporate surveillance in India
