Tax Preparer & Bookkeeper Position
About the Role
We are an established accounting firm with top international membership, seeking an experienced tax preparer with supplementary bookkeeping skills. The primary focus of this role is on tax preparation, with bookkeeping duties included to assess technical proficiency.
Tax Responsibilities — $250/month (Primary Focus)
Join our Tax Team and contribute to accurate, timely filings.
Prepare monthly tax filing packages for seven clients.
Compensation: $250 per month.
Bookkeeping Responsibilities — $100/month
Process ~200 bank transactions and ~400 journal entries (invoices, depreciation, etc.).
Follow standardized protocols using provided Excel templates.
Upload completed files to our system (starting after two months).
Compensation: $100 per month.
Requirements
Strong commitment to meeting deadlines.
Solid understanding of VAT systems.
Willingness to use AI tools, translators, or Google to overcome language barriers.
Prior experience with a reputable accounting firm.
Ability to work independently and remotely.
Engagement Structure
1. Testing Phase (1 month):
Bookkeeping for one company
Compensation: $50
2. Bookkeeping Phase (3 months):
Ongoing monthly bookkeeping for one company
Compensation: $100/month
3. Tax Phase (1 month):
One tax preparation task as a test
Compensation: $100 (bookkeeping) + $50 (tax prep)
4. Full Engagement (After 4 months):
Combined tax preparation and bookkeeping for multiple clients
Compensation: $350/month
Additional potential: Annual tax calculation projects may be assigned if performance is strong.
Important Notes
A skills assessment will be provided to selected candidates.
Long-term engagement (multi-year) is possible based on performance.
Completion of the initial testing phase is required.
