Repair Text Data Automation Script -- 2

I have a Python script whose sole job is to automate the processing and transformation of text data, but it currently fails to run as intended. I need you to dive in, identify the root cause, and restore full functionality.
The code should end up taking raw text, applying the transformations already outlined in the script (think cleaning, restructuring, or enrichment steps), and producing the expected output without errors. While doing so, please keep the existing logic intact unless a change is absolutely necessary for stability or efficiency.
What I expect back:
• a fully functional .py file, tested and ready to execute on a standard Python 3 environment
• a short changelog or inline comments that explain what you fixed and why
• any additional setup notes if external libraries or environment variables are required
If you spot opportunities to streamline performance or improve readability, feel free to add those refinements as part of the fix.
