Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Offset Decision-Tree-based Assessment Research Help
Budget: €6 – €12 EUR
We are creating a next-generation Greenhouse Gas (GHG) offset portal which shall use AI and data science to reduce bureaucracy and get to much better project quality and potential assessments. Some key strategies towards those ends can be decision trees, flow/sequence diagrams, and-or-diagrams, etc. These trees could be based on what can easily be assessed, e.g.
1. Downloadable files e.g. from verra or the web sites of the projects
2. Easily verifiable things by an independent expert near the site: Looking at methane flame, asking neighbors
3. Easily verifiable things by an independent expert on-site (with/without much training)
4. Verifiable things from an aerial view (satellite or drone)
We are looking for more such efficient GHG project assessment techniques and need to provide ~20 project category and actual project assessments to show how that would practically pan out in spite of data gaps.
We’re looking for help with this, i.e. the main tasks are:
1. Find additional assessment on the market (reports, web pages).
2. Help find out the top criteria to select, the best weights, killer criteria (when to not consider a projects e.g. due to signs of greenwashing/fraud).
3. Find the best assessment techniques and criteria and how they are related.
4. Researching green certification requirements.
Your qualification:
1. Ideally experience in GHG offsets or carbon certificates and you’d ideally be able to tell us the top n features/attributes for assessing a GHG project or tell us the decision trees or flows how to get to an assessment decision or score. We’re willing to pay a higher hourly rate for this.
2. Alternatively, you’d efficiently research this based on existing knowledge of specific GHG domains (knowing key words, what to google, what to look out for in terms of possible problems).
3. Very strong analytical and internet search skills in English and possibly other languages.
4. Access to Microsoft Excel or LibreOffice Calc (free).
Please tell us your relevant qualification and especially in which GHG categories you have which relevant knowledge.
