Extracting geometry from point clouds

We have cardboard parts as pointclouds. The cardboard needs to be extracted from the table below.

Then we need the outer dimensions (length width and thickness) . Furthermore we need the dimension of the gaps in the cardboard.

The result should be a script wich stable detects the dimension of different cardboards.
