Job ID: 39114765

Budget: $250 – $750 AUD

GC-MS Data Analysis & Quantification with Step-by-Step Explanation

Project Description:

I have conducted GC-MS analysis on my samples and mix standards, and I need an expert to help with data processing, quantification, and interpretation. I will provide example files to illustrate the expected results.

I need someone who can:
✅ Process GC-MS raw data and extract relevant information
✅ Quantify compounds using standard curves (based on peak areas)
✅ Identify compounds using the NIST library and provide clear annotations
✅ Explain the full process in plain language, so I understand each step
✅ Provide final results in a structured format for use in my research paper
✅ Ensure that uncertain identifications are flagged with explanations

Project Requirements:

? Experience in GC-MS data analysis (chromatography & mass spectrometry)
? Strong knowledge of peak integration, calibration curves, and quantification
? Ability to clearly explain the steps taken in data processing (step-by-step breakdown)
? Familiarity with GC-MS software (MassHunter, Xcalibur, OpenChrom, NIST MS Search, etc.)
? Experience in compiling data for research papers
? Willingness to provide follow-up support for clarification questions

Deliverables:

? Processed GC-MS data with peak areas and identified compounds
? Quantification results based on provided standard curves
? Step-by-step breakdown of how the data was analyzed (plain language explanation)
? Final compound list (including retention times, peak areas, and molecular identification)
? A brief summary/report outlining findings
? Recommendations on handling uncertain identifications or outliers

Files Provided:

I will share example data files to illustrate the expected format of results. These include:
• Standard curves for quantification
• GC-MS data analysis examples
• [Specify file formats: Agilent D files, CDF, mzML, Excel, CSV, etc.]

Project Budget & Timeline:
• Budget: Open to discussion based on expertise and scope
• Timeline: Looking for a quick turnaround (1-2 weeks)
• Follow-up support: Ideally, a short email or video debrief for any clarification

Confidentiality:

This project involves research data, and confidentiality is expected. A non-disclosure agreement (NDA) can be signed if needed.

Who Can Apply:
• Analytical chemists, food scientists, or researchers with GC-MS expertise
• Freelancers experienced in mass spectrometry & compound identification
