Data Warehouse Project
Budget: €8 – €30 EUR
Data Warehouse
Part 1: Functional Analysis
1. Define an industry (eg finance, health, etc.) for which you will build a data warehouse. Justify your choice. You can use various sources to argue your choice, which should be presented in the references section.
2. Design and explain all the constituent components of the data warehouse architecture for the selected industry.
a) Build the datawarehouse architecture using draw.io.
a) Analyze different data sources: file types, frequency of data loading in accordance with business needs for the selected industry.
b) Analyze: Staging, Core, Data Marts - define end-users.
Explain other implementation details.
3. Identify a use case, for which you should:
a) Define tables, attributes, attribute types. Build 1 star schema, where you specify all the details like PK, FK, connections between them etc.
b) How will the data history be stored? Determine the type of SCD that is appropriate for your case. Justify the answer.
c) Define the types of dimensions you have identified.
d) For defined tables, fill them with some dummy data to more clearly reflect the implementation details. (eg 5-6 lines).
4. Explain how you will perform initial loading and delta loading.
5.Identify at least 2 possible transformations and give an example. (eg tables with relevant attributes and some data to explain the ETL process)
Part 2: Tech Stack
Determine the technological components (tools) needed to implement your solution. Analyze and justify your choice, including possible costs and the ability to adapt to future changes.
Part of the assessment are:
Provide examples of tables (attributes and related data) for points in the functional analysis section.
Ability to present the paper within the specified time.
Detailed justification and argumentation of your paper.
Formatting rules in word and .ppt
