Job Description:
We run weekend trips and treks and work with a pool of Trip Captains.
Every weekend, multiple trips need to be assigned the best possible captains based on availability, experience, fairness, and other real-world constraints.
Currently, this is done manually.
We want to automate this decision-making process.
What we need:
>Design and build an automated assignment system that:
>Assigns captains to upcoming trips
>Respects constraints like availability and experience
>Balances fairness across captains over time
>Produces reliable, explainable assignments
The logic should be clean, configurable, and maintainable
