Conceptual Data Modeler
Budget: $30 – $250 USD
We are a medium-sized organization seeking an experienced Data Modeler to help us build a Conceptual Entity-Relationship Diagram (ERD) for six business domains: Sales, Finance, Supply Chain, Customer, Marketing, and Consumer Analysis.
We already have logical data models built for some domains (using tools like Sparx), and now we need to reverse-engineer them into a business-level conceptual model. The objective is to:
Identify key entities and high-level relationships across subdomains
Map logical models to conceptual entities
Highlight areas where logical models exist or are missing
Produce a clean conceptual ERD and a mapping document
Responsibilities:
Review existing logical models and data sources (SAP S4, Dynamics 365, OnTap, etc.)
Identify and define conceptual entities and relationships
Create high-level conceptual ERD using tools like Lucidchart, Sparx, or ER/Studio
Prepare a mapping sheet showing which logical models align with which conceptual entities
Highlight subdomains where logical models are missing
Skills Required:
Strong experience in data modeling (conceptual, logical)
Familiarity with enterprise data systems (SAP, Dynamics, etc.)
Proficiency in Sparx EA or similar modeling tools
Ability to interpret domain-specific data sources
Excellent communication and documentation skills
Deliverables:
Conceptual ERD (PDF or diagram file)
Mapping document (Excel or similar)
Summary of data modeling coverage per domain
