Purge 94k SKUs in Business Central

My live Business Central environment is weighed down by roughly 94,000 obsolete stock-keeping units. The sole objective is to improve overall system performance, so every one of those records needs to disappear—no historical data has to be kept.

Key points you should know
• Production tenant: Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central (current SaaS release)
• Action required: permanent removal of all identified SKUs, with zero retention of related history
• Decision pending: whether we execute a one-click purge or stage the data in an interim archive before final deletion—I’m open to whichever approach you can justify as safest for a live system with minimal downtime.

Deliverables
1. Clean removal of the 94,000 SKU records from the live company.
2. Verification that no residual item ledger, value entry, or dimension data linked to those SKUs remains.
3. Short post-task report summarising method used, time taken, and any objects or extensions touched.

Acceptance criteria
• Inventory, sales, purchasing, and planning pages show none of the purged SKUs.
• System performance metrics (page load, search, and posting) return to baseline or better.
• No unintended data loss beyond the specified items.
