Monthly Xero Invoicing (only NZ residents will be considered)
Budget: $30 – $60 NZD
This is a contract we have been doing over the last few months but the assigned contractor is no longer available. It has rather unusual requirements.
The job takes place once a month, on the 1st day of the month using the Australian calendar. That means if there is public holiday here in NZ on the first working day of the month, but no public holiday in Australia on the same day, the job still needs to be done on that day.
Looking at 2026 the two dates where the work has to be done on a NZ PHOL are:
Friday 2nd January 2026 (no PHOLin AU) and
Monday 1 June 2026 (Kings Birthday is not a PHOL in Au).
For all other months for the remainder of 2025 and for 2026, the 1st working day of the month will be a normal working day Monday-Friday.
The contract is likely to go for at least a year possibly longer so I'm looking to engage with 2 individuals so there can be backup and/or both contractors can co-operate to make sure each month if covered. It could be that both contractors work most months. The client is also training up 1 person and the exiting expert may still be available in emergencies.
At the moment work starts at around 7am and goes for most of the day and as a long as it takes until it's done.
Key criteria is speed (to get the job done by the end of the day), attention to detail, and reliability to be available. Basic familiarity with Xero is a must. You must be based in NZ and preferably working from home.
The contract includes manually matching spreadsheets to draft invoices in Xero (by the hundreds). And yes automation may be considered in the future but is not an option at the moment. If the job is automated it will still have a manual element.
