Excel Data Entry & Cleaning
Budget: ₹12,500 – ₹37,500 INR
I have a series of large Excel workbooks that need to be brought into shape so they are analysis-ready. The immediate focus is two-fold: first, accurate data entry of new records; second, a thorough cleaning pass to remove duplicates, correct inconsistencies, and apply validation rules. Everything is currently stored in Excel files, but I occasionally pull in information from PDFs or share the sheets through Google Sheets, so being comfortable with those formats will help.
Your day-to-day work will involve:
• Entering new rows while following my field naming conventions
• Running error checks and validation formulas to flag outliers or missing values
• Re-ordering, filtering, and summarising data so it is neatly organised for downstream reporting
• Documenting any assumptions or edge cases you encounter
When you return the file I should be able to open one master workbook where:
– Columns are consistently formatted (dates, currency, text)
– No duplicate IDs remain
– All validation rules pass without errors
– A short changelog tab notes the key fixes you applied
If you’re quick with Excel functions, power-filters, and light scripting (e.g., simple VBA or Google Apps Script for Sheets), you’ll fly through this task. I’ll be available for clarifications and can supply a small sample first so we confirm the approach before you tackle the full dataset.
