Excel DMS Folder Structure Design
Budget: ₹600 – ₹1,500 INR
I look after all Control & Instrumentation documents for a large thermal power plant and now need a clean, future-proof folder hierarchy before we migrate everything to a Document Management System. Your job is to design that hierarchy and present it in a single Excel workbook so our IT team can create the folders in one go.
Here is what I need from you:
• Analyse the kinds of files we handle—drawings, loop diagrams, maintenance logs, calibration sheets, procedures, reports, photographs, and vendor manuals—and propose a logical top-to-bottom structure that makes retrieval intuitive.
• Lay the hierarchy out in Excel with at least these columns: Folder Name, Full Path, Purpose/Notes, Recommended Access Level (read-only, edit, or restricted).
• Keep paths error-free, avoid duplicates, and make the sheet easy to sort or filter.
• Factor in typical C&I plant workflows such as revisions, year/quarter segregation, and active vs. archived material.
• The final workbook should be ready for import into scripting tools or Windows “robocopy /create” commands without further editing.
Once you send the draft I will test it against a sample file set, give feedback, and ask for any fine-tuning before sign-off. Knowledge of power-plant documentation is preferred; clarity, practicality, and attention to detail are essential.
