Environmental Soil & Water Survey
Budget: $10 – $30 USD
Our pipe-laying project is moving into a sensitive corridor and an environmental survey focused on soil and water quality is required before trenching begins. I need complete baseline data that can satisfy permitting authorities and give our construction team clear guidance on how to handle any contaminants or naturally occurring constraints.
The scope covers:
• Designing a sampling strategy that meets ASTM and local EPA guidelines for both surface and groundwater, as well as representative soil horizons along the right-of-way.
• Collecting field samples with calibrated probes (pH, EC, turbidity) and GPS-referenced locations so the findings tie directly into our existing GIS alignment files.
• Coordinating certified laboratory analysis for full chemical composition—including hydrocarbons, heavy metals and salinity—plus any additional parameters you believe are critical based on site conditions.
• Interpreting results, mapping exceedances, and writing a concise report that highlights risks and practical mitigation steps for the construction crew (e.g., spoil handling, dewatering discharge limits).
Deliverables will be accepted when:
1. All raw data, chain-of-custody forms and lab certificates are provided in editable format.
2. Shapefiles/KMZ layers match our centerline within ±0.5 m.
3. The final report clearly states whether soil or water constituents exceed local thresholds and includes actionable recommendations.
Site access permits, safety induction and a recent topo base map will be supplied once the kick-off call is complete. If you already use software like QGIS, Surfer or similar, let me know so we can align file types from the start.
