Data Entry – Historical Tables (1910–1940) into Excel

Job ID: 39785375

Budget: $30 – $250 USD

I have a set of PDF scans containing historical tables produced between 1910 and 1940, with titles in Spanish. There are roughly 11–50 large tables in total. Most follow a similar layout, but each decade introduces subtle changes in column order or notation—so accuracy and a sharp eye for detail are essential.

The task is straightforward: faithfully copy every figure, heading, and footnote into Excel so the spreadsheet mirrors the original tables in both structure and content. You may use Excel features such as data validation, conditional formatting, or simple formulas to keep entries clean and verifiable, but the raw values must remain exactly as printed.

Deliverables:

One well-organized Excel workbook (or separate files if preferred), with each table on its own sheet and clearly labeled.

No stray characters, spacing issues, or merged-cell surprises. Every number should be easily cross-referenced back to the PDF.

Additional Notes:

An example scan of the type of document to be transcribed is attached (Costa Rica, Ministry of Education report, 1912–1913) so you can see the structure and level of detail required.

Experience handling old or degraded scans is a plus, as some type may be faded or contain non-standard symbols.

A second pass to spot-check for OCR or keystroke errors is expected.

This is a standalone project, but I have more archival material lined up. Strong performance can lead to a steady stream of similar assignments.
