Archival Research: Admiralty Survivor Reports and OBE Recognition

Job ID: 39797114

Budget: $500 – $1,000 USD

I need a methodical archival deep-dive into Admiralty survivor reports and related records on the Order of the British Empire. The core of the job is to locate, obtain and organise primary sources—most will sit in the ADM series at The National Archives, the London Gazette and, where necessary, MoD or Imperial War Museum files.

Here is what I expect:

• Digital images or clear photographs of every relevant survivor report you locate, grouped by vessel and date.
• A spreadsheet that indexes each document (archive reference, ship, action date, brief note).
• A companion file gathering OBE information tied to the same personnel—full citation text, gazette reference, service number when available.
• A concise narrative (one or two pages) outlining your search strategy, repositories consulted, and any gaps that remain.

All scans must be legible, references formatted in standard National Archives style, and citations traceable back to the primary source. If you already hold a reader’s ticket or have experience handling ADM series papers, please highlight that in your bid.
