Restore Firefox Bookmarks from Backup

I'm seeking assistance to restore my Firefox bookmarks from a backup file. The backup is in JSON format, and I have the file ready and accessible in my PC's Firefox profile folder. The Firefox bookmarks library is empty and I cannot restore from the library.
