Legacy Hitachi AMS2300 Storage System – Diagnosis and Recovery
Budget: $30 – $250 USD
We are looking for a Senior Storage Engineer with experience in Hitachi Data Systems (HDS) enterprise storage systems, particularly the Hitachi AMS2300 / AMS series.
We have a legacy enterprise storage array that previously stored production data. The system has been powered down for some time and we currently do not know its operational status.
Our goal is to:
Diagnose the storage system
Identify any hardware or configuration issues
Restore the system to a temporary operational state
Enable access to the stored data so it can be migrated to a new platform
The data migration itself will be handled internally once the storage becomes accessible.
Environment details
– Hitachi AMS2300 running Storage Navigator Modular 2.
– Access available through Fibre Channel and RAIDCOM CLI; remote console can be arranged over VPN.
Acceptance criteria
1. Every LUN reports 100 % readable after extraction.
2. Checksums between the live array and the exported copy match.
3. Mapping document clearly shows where each original LUN now resides.
Please keep downtime to an absolute minimum; the array currently serves non-critical archives but is still mounted. Let me know the tooling you prefer (RAIDCOM, dd, SAN-based replication utilities, etc.) and the estimated time window so I can coordinate a maintenance slot.
