HRIS Data Extraction Specialist
Budget: $20,000 – $50,000 CAD
Location: Remote
Contract Duration: 2–3 months, TBD based on project scope
Start Date: Immediately
Hours: Flexible, with availability for regular check-ins with the HR and IT teams.
Compensation: Competitive; based on experience.
About the Role:
We recently implemented a new HRIS and are now preparing to sunset our legacy system. We’re looking for an experienced HRIS Data Extraction specialist to handle the process of extracting and organizing all historical HRIS data for import into our new platform.
This role requires someone who can work independently, understands HR data structures, and can ensure the secure and accurate transfer of information.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Develop and execute a plan to extract, validate, and organize all historical HR and payroll data from the legacy HRIS into a structured ADP import format.
2. Collaborate with HR, IT, and vendor partners to define data mapping and file formats required for import into ADP.
3. Identify and document data dependencies, gaps, and integrity issues.
4. Provide recommendations on data archiving and long-term storage strategies.
5. Ensure compliance with privacy and data retention requirements throughout the process.
6. Deliver final datasets and documentation ready for upload to the new HRIS.
Qualifications:
1. Proven experience with HRIS data migration or system decommissioning projects.
2. Strong understanding of HR, payroll, and time & attendance data structures.
3. Proficiency in data extraction, transformation, and validation (SQL, Excel, or similar tools).
4. Familiarity with leading HRIS systems, specifically PDS Vista version 7.3.6 and ADP WFN.
5. Exceptional attention to detail, data integrity, and confidentiality.
6. Strong project management and communication skills.
