Text Data Cleaning & Validation

I need help turning a raw export of text-based records into a clean, import-ready file. The job is purely about data cleaning and validation: spotting and removing duplicates, correcting obvious spelling and capitalisation issues, standardising date and phone formats, and flagging or filling any missing mandatory fields.

The source is currently in a single spreadsheet, though you’re welcome to work in Excel, Google Sheets, or run Python/regex routines—the method is up to you as long as the final sheet is accurate and consistent.

Please tell me about past experience handling similar text-heavy datasets and mention whichever tools or workflows you normally rely on; that context will help me judge fit quickly.

Deliverables
• A cleaned spreadsheet with every text field standardised and validated
• A short change log summarising the main issues found and fixes applied

Acceptance criteria
• No duplicates or blank mandatory fields remain
• All dates, phone numbers, and names follow the agreed format guide I will share
• File opens without errors and is ready for immediate import into our CRM
